We're very proud to announce that our website has now been updated and visitors to
www.dnaheritage.com will find DNAOptions, our new ordering system, in place which
complements well our market leading Y-chromosome test for genealogists.
DNAOptions at DNA Heritage
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Now when you place an order with us, we test ALL 43 markers and only charge you for
the ones you actually order. We won't sell low-resolution tests to genealogists and
thus a minimum of 23 markers is required for each order - but these can be any
markers you choose. Want to overlap the same markers used by FTDNA or RG with entirely
flexible upgrades?
Now you can.
Because we have all 43 markers tested, you can 'upgrade' and add extra markers - one
at a time if you want - instantly!
High-resolution tests slightly out of range for new Project members? We've done our
best to remedy that too.
Each marker costs just $5.99 thus 23 markers will cost only $137.77 - and any extra
markers will only cost $5.99 each thereafter.
We've also kept the full 43-marker test (which provides the highest confidence in
the conclusions) the same as the promotional rate of just $199. Extra markers may
also provide clues to finer branches within lineages.
DNAOptions is a genuinely new way to sell tests. In the past it made sense to get
tested at one company if other cousins were also tested there, as you could compare
marker results with each other. Our universal 43-marker test combined with our new
ordering capability is a fundamental change for the market and you can now make a
choice based on other factors.
Like an ISO17025 accredited lab built for routine
casework. Or short turn-around time. Or price.
Most Project Administrators will know the importance of high-resolution tests for
genealogy although they naturally cost a little more than their participants would
like to pay. Those that have gone for a 12-marker test first and then had to upgrade
will have paid over $40 more than if they had chosen DNA Heritage for the same 25
markers.
Even members who had previously taken a 25-marker test could have saved themselves
or the Project over $21 for the exact same markers with us.
And we've abolished the 'group-rate' hurdle so that everyone receives the same low
rate. Every Project can now save by having their testing performed through us and
have the flexibility of extra markers whenever they need to.
To help choose your markers, we've given some quick select buttons. For example,
you might want to overlap with the SMGF database, or FTDNA's 25-marker panel or RG's
26- or 43-marker panel. Choose those markers. We do have a recommended panel to
start with comprising the 23 most polymorphic single-copy markers, which is the best
solution for genealogists as these markers change often and can be directly compared
marker for marker between individuals.
We've also started up Surname Projects again in earnest giving the Management tools
needed for successful projects. This includes standard letters for both general
announcements and individual member enquiries, in addition to editing and tracking
capabilities. Project Admins can also add extra markers to a member's test. (see http://www.dnaheritage.com/oracle/ for a tour of Oracle, our online customer
management system.
Once logged on to Oracle you can easily:
- see when samples have been sent out, returned and tested
- view the results of all of your group members
- track the overall status of each sample
- edit contact details for each member
- select the markers to be used by your Project
- see the payment status of each sample
- keep helpful notes
- put your project details online for others to find
- view requests to join your Project
- add new members
DNAOptions - the best solution for your Project and your members.
